Judge for NYCUDL Tournament 2023

Chaperoned Debate Team 2024

I've had the pleasure of acting as a Judge for the November 2023 NYCUDL Open Middle School/HS Tournament and a Chaperone for the tournament in December 2024. As a judge, my job was to listen to both, proposition and opposition sides of the argument from various schools including I.S. 230Q. I provide oral and written feedback on their points of information, which argument is stronger and why, advise on their scope, magnitude, reversibility, time frame and probability. I then fill out a form and choose a winner. I did this for three rounds.

On December 7, 2024, I was a chaperone for the I.S. 230Q debate team. As a chaperone, I helped supervise multiple students from I.S. 230Q gain clarity for their pre-prepared arguments for Debate by providing feedback and care. We had the privilege of being visited by District 30 Assembly Person Catalina Cruz. Our debaters ended up on the @nycdebateleague and @catalinacruzny Instagram pages.

Presented NY State Exam ELA Information for the ONLINE PTA Meeting on March 15, 2023

Presented NY State Exam ELA Information at the IN-PERSON PTA Meeting on March 19, 2025

For two years, the 2022-2023 and 2024-2025 school year, I had the privilege of creating and presenting the slides for the NY ELA Examination at the Parent-Teacher Association meeting. The 2022-2023 school year meeting was on Zoom; the 2024-2025 PTA meeting was in person. During this event, parents are notified with updates and upcoming events from the school from administration and the PTA President. As an ELA teacher, being able to craft slides and present at the PTA meeting allowed me to modify my own material for my students as well as provide opportunity to connect with parents.
