JA FINANCE PARK (FINANCIAL LITERACY)

School Trips
APPLEBEES (FINANCIAL LITERACY)

CITI FIELD

I had the privilege of chaperoning students in a number of school trips. I have chaperoned students to JA Finance Park where they identify personal interests and career interests to manage their finances. This connects to literacy studies by encompassing the ability to read, write, speak and listen effectively through finance. Another trip that encapulates financial literacy is Applebees, where students were presented the opportunity to see what happened behind the scenes during a typical Applebees day. This allows real-world example of resturaunt and business application to encompassing a basic skills of literacy. The third trip I chaperoned is Citi Field. Students were presented the opportunity to have free tickets to attend the Mets game. This is a reward granted and are very thankful for at I.S. 230Q.

Students utilize skills learned through these trips to encompass a broader and better understanding of development in concepts and themes through the course of English Language Arts.
